NYLA Lobby Day - March 13

Join MVLS staff for the annual NYLA Lobby Day, March 13 in Albany. Public Libraries and MVLS would greatly benefit from the legislative agenda proposed by our statewide library organization - a 66% increase in direct aid to libraries; 23% increase to the system; continuation of the $14 million construction grant program. Your help is needed to tell the library story to our state legislators.

The appointment schedule is as follows:
8:30 AM Legislative Breakfast - Meeting Room 6, Empire State Plaza Concourse

10:00 AM Assemblyman Marc Butler - LOB Room 318
11:30 AM Assembly Minority Leader James Tedisco - LOB Room 340
1:00 PM Senator Hugh Farley - LOB Room 412
1:30 PM Senator James Seward - LOB Room 917
2:00 PM Assemblyman Peter Lopez - LOB Room 429
3:00 PM Assemblyman Paul Tonko - LOB Room 713

If you and representatives of your library are planning to attend, please let Kathy Insero (kinsero@mvls.info) know. We will again provide transportation from the MVLS Service Center to Albany. It is critically important that legislators hear from their constituents of the need for this additional money to libraries. Only you can give that perspective.
